Summer programme June to August 2017

A big and heartfelt thank you to the leaders who have helped make this summer programme such a varied one. Many of you may know I have not enjoyed the best of health since the beginning of 2017 and my main concern was not to present a list of walks which were, and looked, cobbled together. It is to their great credit that the leaders without hesitation understood this objective and whether close to London or further afield have done an excellent job in providing walks which I hope a large number of the active membership will participate in and enjoy. For your guidance, please note the dates of rambles not taking place on a Sunday:

Saturday 3rd June.

Saturday 5th August.

Monday 28th August.

Please note:  Please on walks, let the leader lead from the front.  If you walk in front of the leader you are potentially leading his/her walk and should bear the responsibility if you take a wrong turning and cause everyone to get lost.  This is particularly the case in wooded areas.  The turn off to another path could be hidden and would probably be only known to the person leading the walk.  Also people who charge ahead in front of the leader can cause the leader unnecessary worry as he/she is engaged in watching the people in front rather than concentrating on the task of leading the walk and looking out for the next path junction.      Maurice
