Spring is in the air, and summer is shortly following. It is good to see so lany members out on the Sunday rambles. It might be a good idea to bring an elergency sandwich with you as with the large turn out it may be difficult to acquire food in the pub.

History of the Club Project: Work on this is going ahead. Do you remember the incident of the burning bus? or holding the door of the
plane dosed on the trip to Lourdes? If you do you are cordially invited to a summer tea party on the afternoon of (Saturday 5 August). We are having a tea party at the holy apostles hall to gather information about historical events, beginning at 3PM. Long
standing members are particularly asked to make an effort to come to thls.and give the benefit df their memories. No need to arrange in advance, JUST TURN UP.. Bring any
relevant information along to share. We would be delighted to see a good turnout on this occasion. This Will be an inforrmal social event with no loud music.

The next programme will be going out during the holiday month of August, so if you have anything to put in please let le have it before the 1st. of August.
Arundel and Brighton Ecumenical Walking Pilgrilage:
This annual event is organised by the Arundel and Brighton Diocese. This year's pilgrimage takes place from
Saturday 12 August to Sunday 27 August. It will commemorate the fourth centenary of St.Philip Howard, the 30th anniversary of the foundation of the Diocese of
Arundel and Brighton and 20 years of Walking Pilgrimages.
Average daily walking distance will be 18 miles. There will be Mass every day and several prayer stops at
churches along the way. Pilgrims sleep on floors in village halls, schools etc. cost for the whole pilgrimage is £130 (£90 if under 21) . This covers food, accomodatlon and transport for your luggage (one item
plus sleeping bag). For shorter periods the cost is £10 a night. Day pilgrims are very welcome at no charge.

Meet Victoria" at 9 20 for 9 40 train to Dorking (Arr 1022). Leader will meet party at station for short walk to other station (Dorking Deepdene) to catch 10 47 train to Gomshall(Arr HJ'S8). Walk very hilly but there are fine views at the tops of the hills to compensate.
Lunch: Windmill'Inn near Pitch Hill (sells food). Extra stop: Kings Head, Holmbury St Mary;
Tea: Cafe at top of Leith Hill (1000ft high if tower is included).
Distance: 15 Staggering miles finishing about 7pm at Star & Garter, near Dorking Station.

Meet Euston main concourse for the 15 04 train to Apsley (Arr. 15 32). Gentle 5 mile stroll to Berkhamsted. 6 PM Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Park Street. Those who cannot come to walk but can attend Mass and social take 17 04 train from Euston to Brekhamsted (Arr. 17 39). Will be met at station. After Mass go to "The Boat" (a pub by the canal) for Bar-B-Cue.

Saturday 12 August 1995 (OS Map 197) A & B Pilgrimage Walk ( part of Day One walk)
Meet Victoria* at 7 40 for 8 02 train to Arundel (Arr 09 27).
Lunch: The Bridge Inn near Amberley Station (pub serves food)
Distance: 4 miles returning from Amberley Station. Can visit museum near station in afternoon.
Fare: £12 CDR ARIJNDEL. From Arundel Station turn left and keep straight ahead towards town centre and up to Cathedral ( 1 mile) for 10 am mass. If not attending this Mass catch the later 09 02 or 10 02 train to Arundel and meet the Pilgrims after mass. Ring Maurice for more details nearer the date, i.e. on or just before 11 August.
Saturday 19 August 1995 (OS Maps 187/188) - A & B Pilgrimage Walk from The Westerham Hall, Westerham to The Moat URC Hall, London Road, East Grinstead. Lunch will be at The Royal Oak, Staffhurst Wood. Distance about 15 miles. It is possible to join this walkby getting a train from Victoria to Oxted and then a bus to Westerham. Return can be made by train from East Grinstead ( on the same line as Oxted) to Victoria. Train and bus times available from Maurice nearer the date ( See above).

Please Note. For all main line stations marked with an asterisk, the train calls at Clapham Junction 5-7 minutes later. Trains for Redhill, Eastbourne, Edenbridge Town, Arundel and Bognor Regis, also call at East Croydon 15 - 18 minutes later. Dorking trains also call at Sutton and Epsom. The 9 19 train on Sunday 18 June is a stopping train calling at Balham and West Croydon as well as Sutton and Epsom.
