Another splendid effort by the leaders. Don't forget without leaders there would be very little purpose to the club.

At the time of going to press the train times shown are correct. However, engineering works may yet be announced which impact on journeys. Whilst we now send out an email alert where this occurs a few days before the ramble concerned is affected, and put amended travel details on our website, members can also check or call 03457 48 49 50. For Tube and Overground it is or 0343 222 1234.

New year, new fares!! Please bear in mind the fares shown are as per the national rail website. If you are asked to pay a little more, your forbearance will be greatly appreciated.

News and Events December 2017 to February 2018

Jean Horan R.I.P. (3rd July 1934 -14th October 2017)

It is with great sadness that the death of Jean Horan has to be announced. Her funeral took place at St Mary Mother of God Church in Hornchurch and her cremation at South Essex Crematorium. She was the Club Secretary from 1961 to Together with Norah Smeaton she started and helped run the Club's stall and raffles at St Joseph's Church Bunhill Row Annual Bazaar. She was one of those people who helped when help was needed.

Betty Morrison R.I.P.

I have to announce the sad news of the death of Betty Morrison who was a long serving member of the Club. She died on Wednesday 8th of November just short of her 99th birthday which would have been this December. Her funeral will be on Monday 27th of November at St Anthony of Padua, Genoa Road, Anerley at 2pm.

Alfred Tisi R.I.P.

I have also to announce the sad news of the death of Alfred Tisi who was a long serving member of the Club and died on Tuesday 14th of November at 4pm. He received the sacrament of anointing and all his family were with him at the time of his death.

Annual General Meeting of the Club

The Annual General Meeting took place on Saturday 21st of October and was attended by around 23 members of the Club. Unfortunately no members came forward to replace any of the existing members of the committee and thus the committee remains the same. The motion to increase the membership subscription to £10 was not passed. However the motion to make the Club more inclusive was overwhelmingly passed and the constitution was amended. A copy of the amended constitution was sent out to members on email. Anyone not on email can receive a copy by sending a SAE to the secretary.

Secretary's Report 2017

I am pleased to report that I have recovered from my cancer treatment. However, I will be looking to retire from the work of secretary in the not too distant future, certainly by the end of 2019 when i reach 80 years of age. I will seek to assist anyone who is willing to take over this work from me. It is gratifying that more members have come forward to lead rambles, many

for the first time. Now we should also be also be seeking new younger blood to stand for the committee in the coming years to ensure that the Club has a bright future to look forward to and members can still enjoy the unique benefits of belonging to and sharing in a truly Christian Club
