Just a few reminders re the formation of the Committee:- Only Members of the Club may stand for election, the Committe is comprised of 4 Ladies and 4 gentlemen, this includes the Secretary and the Treasurer. No member may serve on the Committee for more
than two consecutive years and only ordinary paid up Members may propose, second or agree to serve on the Committee. A nomination form is with this list enclosed and all completed forms should be in the hands of the Secretary not later than Tuesday 14th. ot September For the newer Members: - if you have no ida of what the duties of the Committee are here are a few notes: First, to provide a ramble. each Sunday, with the willing help of the leaders that we have, then one of the Committee acts as a "duty" member - this consists of working with the leader in every way; ie , keeping in touch throughout the walk to hold the ramble "together" arid the 'duty' member has the pleasure of closing all the gates that the leader has opened. He/she introduces new members to those others out
on the walk so that they may enjoy each other's company and from the remote control of the rear of the "Indian File." watces to see that the visitors are not Ieft to stray along the wrong footpaths should they become detached from the "mob". At tea time all the “tea money" is collected and details of visitors entered into the "duty book". Should any rambler fall over a stile, fall into a river, or trip over a boot, get stung by a
wasp etc. etc. the duty nember will be only too willing to render first aid from the kit carried by her/him. After election the new main committee elects the Social Sub Committee again 4 ladies and 4 gentlemen who then plan all the events that take place of a Tuesday evening and also the nany Saturday outings. Together these two groups look after the interests of the Club. Then, four times a year when all details have been "gathered" in, the main committee' have a "running off " night or two when the list goes to press and have a " sticky evening " putting all the stamps on the envelopes. Members of both committees take part in all the Club activities to the best of their ability.
So, members please let us have a 'bevy': of nominations and if anyone would like to serve on either committee do not be too shy to say so, it is
a great help to the elected Committee to know who would be willing to stand on the Scial Sub. Com.
