Sunday 4th June      Leader: David Crundall     OS Landranger map 176
 
Meet:        Waterloo 0910 for 0932 train to Ewell West (arr 1003). Also calls Vauxhall 0936, Clapham Junction 0941, and Wimbledon 0948.     
A toilet should be open at Ewell West station, in the waiting room on Platform 2.
Lunch:       Malden Manor - Eating in and takeaway options close to the station as well as seating for those bringing their own food.  
Tea:           Probably the pub near Berrylands station. Lots of choice at the end of the walk in Kingston.
Distance:  About 8 level miles from Ewell West to Kingston, following the Hogsmill Trail, section 8 of the London LOOP .  
Can be muddy in parts.  One or two hills near Old Malden where the path deviates from the river.
Fare:          Oyster / Freedom Pass / Travelcard options.

 Meet:        Charing Cross 0955 for 1016 train to Sevenoaks (arr 1050) Train calls Waterloo East 1019 and London Bridge 1025.

Distance:  9 miles returning to Sevenoaks.
 Fare:         CDR Sevenoaks £10.00 / Boundary zone 6 £3.65. Both with railcard discounts.

Saturday 17th June       Leader: Brian Falls    OS Landranger map 153 

Meet:        St Pancras International - Platform B - 0920 for 0946 train to Sandy (arr 1035). 
Ramblers can also catch this train at East Croydon 0915, London Bridge 0931, Blackfriars 0937, Farringdon 0941, and Finsbury park 0953. 
Lunch:      The Crown (Wetherspoons) Biggleswade. Many other dining places in the town centre.
Tea:           Langford Garden Centre.
Distance:  12 level miles. Going through the RSPB Sanctuary Sandy, refreshments available. 
Then continuing to Biggleswade through open countryside and walking by the river before finishing at Arlesey.
Fare:         CDR Sandy £11.15 / boundary zone 6 £6.95. Both with railcard discounts.

Saturday 24thJune      Leader: John Burbage
 
Meet:        Paddington 0925 to join the 0947 Elizabeth Line train to Burnham (arr. 1020). 
Train available from Stratford 0923, Liverpool Street 0935, Farringdon 0935 and intermediary calling points.
Lunch:      The Blackwood Arms, Littleworth Common. A Club favourite nestled in a woodland setting. Picnic tables outside for sandwich eaters.
Tea:          Teashops in Cookham available.
Distance: 11 gentle miles with a few small hills. 
We walk through Burnham Beeches and other woodland settings with views over the Thames valley, returning from Cookham via Maidenhead.
Fare:         Paddington to Cookham off peak return £10.65 with railcards (Oyster zone 6 plus singles available). 
Elizabeth line is free to London Freedom Pass holders who may take the bus to Maidenhead or purchase a single train ticket £2.35 with Rail Card.
John may join the train en-route.
 
Saturday 1st July    St Francis of Assisi Exhibition at the National Gallery

Meet:          10:45 on main concourse of Charing Cross Railway station.  Toilets in station
Lunch:         Cafe in the Crypt, St Martin's Fields after the exhibition visit. A group ticket will be booked, but it would be helpful to let us know if you will be attending.
Fare:            Freedom pass / Travelcard / Oyster options.

Meet:       Outside Epping station - Central line (zone 6) at 1030 for 1045 start. Approximately 45 minutes from Oxford Circus and 25 minutes from Stratford.  
Lunch:      The Green Man pub at TootHill www.thegreenmanandcourtyard.com
Tea:          Hmmm.......
Distance: 8 miles returning from Epping.  
Following the Essex Way with a visit to St Andrews 'Stave' Church in Greenstead, probably the oldest wooden building in Europe. Then, if time allows, on to visit the Ongar Steam Railway station. Four stiles and a small incline to climb. If wearing shorts, please be mindful that there are some overgrown paths.
From Ongar, there is a heritage bus at 15:30 to Epping station. If we miss that, bus 420 departs Ongar for Epping at 16:45. 
Fare:         Oyster / Freedom Pass / Travelcard options. Bus fare, where applicable, from Ongar to Epping. Both buses are free for Freedom pass holders.

Meet:       Waterloo 0855 for 0924 train to Farnham (arr 1025) - Also calls Clapham Junction 0931.
Lunch:      The Donkey, Charles Hill
Tea:          Godalming
Distance: 13 mainly level miles returning from Godalming. 3 trains per hour back to Waterloo.
The walk follows the North Downs Way through a narrow wooded valley along the River Wey, then the grounds of Moor Park House and skirting the ruins of 12th Century                  Waverley Abbey. The walk continues along sandy bridleways and through woods to the Peper Harrow Estate then along the River Wey to Godalming.
Fare:         CDR Farnham £14.65 / boundary zone 6 £9.10, plus single Godalming to Guildford £2.60. All with railcard discounts.

Meet:       Blackfriars 0955 for 1016 train to Shoreham, Kent. (arr 1015). Also calls Peckham Rye 1031 - Overground and mainline connections.  Lunch:      Lullingstone Country Park.

Distance: 4 flat miles returning from Shoreham.  
Fare:         CDR Shoreham £9.55 / boundary zone 6 £3.80. Both with Senior railcard and Annual Gold card discounts. Discount does not apply for Network Card holders.

Meet:       Charing Cross 1000 for 1029 train to Otford. Also calls Waterloo East 1032 and London Bridge 1038.

Sunday 23rd July      Leader: Maurice Hickman           OS Explorer maps 146 & 161
 
Meet:       Blackfriars 1000 for 1019 train to Coulsdon South (arr 1052). Ramblers can also catch this train at West Hampstead Thameslink 1000, 
St Pancras International - Platform A - 1011, Farringdon 1015, London Bridge 1026 and East Croydon 1043. 
Lunch:      The Woodman, Woodmansterne.
Tea:           Oaks Park, Little Woodcote
Distance: 9 miles returning from Banstead. 
Half hourly service to London calling at the following Overground / mainline interchanges; West Croydon, Norwood Junction and Peckham Rye.  
Terrain mostly flat, except for a gentle hill between Chiptead and Woodmansterne. After lunch we will mostly follow section 6 of the London Loop which goes through                            Mayfield lavender field and Oaks Park. Can return by 166 bus from Mayfield if you wish to pay £5 to enter, which is optional. 
Fare:         Oyster / Freedom Pass / Travelcard options.  
Maurice will meet the ramblers at Coulsdon South.
 
Sunday 30th July      Leader: Antoinette Adkins    OS Explorer map 161
 
Meet:       Outside Wimbledon Park District line station for a 10:45 start. 
                  For a quick journey walkers can use the very frequent trains from Waterloo to Wimbledon mainline and then change for one stop back on the district line.    
Lunch:      The Windmill Café, Wimbledon Common
Tea:          Wibbas Down (Wetherspoons) in Wimbledon or cafés nearby. 
Distance: 8 miles returning from Wimbledon station. 
Walking through Wimbledon Park and a hilly climb to visit a Buddhist temple. Time to walk around the gardens and have a little break before heading to Wimbledon Common for lunch and then onwards to Cannizaro Park.  Drop-out possible after lunch at any point on the Common by taking bus no. 93 to Wimbledon.

Meet:       Liverpool Street 0940 for 1000 train to Benfleet (arr 1052). Also calls Stratford 1007, Barking 1023 and Upminster 1032.
 Lunch:      Leigh on Sea. Variety of pubs, cafes and takeaways
 Tea:          The Last Post (Wetherspoons), close to Southend Central station, or other options. Four trains per hour back to London  
Distance: Approximately 8 Miles returning from Southend. Flat terrain, no stiles, kissing gates or hills.
 Fare:         CDR Southend Central £10.95 / boundary zone 6 £8.30. Both with railcard discounts.

Meet:         Victoria 0930 for 0950 train to Oxted (arr 1031). Train also calls Clapham Junction 0957 and East Croydon (Thameslink and other connections) 1010. NB  The 1007 departure from London Bridge to Oxted will not now be running but Walkers can use Thameslink services from Farringdon, Blackfriars and London Bridge and change at East Croydon, however, please check www.nationalrail.co.uk to ensure sufficient time is allowed to connect with the Oxted train.   .

Distance: 10.5 miles through a range of woodland, farm and heathland on a quiet and pretty part of the East Surrey / Kent border. The walk is mainly on the level but with some hills with fine views. There is plenty of tree cover if the weather is hot or rainy!.   
Fare:         CDR Oxted £8.75 / boundary zone 6 £3.35. Both with railcard discounts.

Meet:      Victoria 0940 for 1000 train to Knockholt (arr 1058). Train also calls Lewisham 1019 - DLR services from Stratford and Bank.

Tea:          Maybe in Dunton Green   
Distance: 9 level and downhill miles returning from Dunton Green. Half hourly service back to Lewisham and Victoria. 
Fare:         CDR Dunton Green £8.75 with railcard discounts. 
                  For holders of Freedom passes and 60 plus Oyster or Travelcards, you will only need to buy a single ticket from Dunton Green to Knockholt. Fare is £2.40 with railcards.

Bank holiday Monday 28th August      Leader: Brian Falls         OS Explorer map 147
 
Meet:        St Pancras International - Platform B - 0935 for 0951 train to Flitwick (arr 1040). Ramblers can also catch this train at East Croydon 0921, London Bridge 0936, Blackfriars 0942, Farringdon 0946, and West Hampstead Thameslink 0959.
Morning tea stop at The Jolly Coopers, Wardhedges.
Lunch:      The Cross Keys, Pulloxhill. Good food, average prices.
Tea:          The Carpenters Arms, Harlington - close to the station.
 Distance: 10.5 easy to moderate miles returning from Harlington - four trains per hour back to London and points further south.  Blackberry picking after lunch. One hill towards the end, where John Bunyan's Oak burnt down last year.
Fare:         CDR Flitwick £10.40 / Boundary zone 6 £8.25 both with railcard discounts.
