MASS FOR DECEASED MEMBERS - SUNDAY 15 APRIL
The ramble on this Sunday will be preceded by a 10 00 am Mass at St Mary Moorfields, Eldon Street. This Mass is being said for the repose of the souls of the Mothers of Winnie Hawthorn, Pat Lee and Douglas Kirk. It is also for Fr Ryan (the previous rector of .St Mary Moorfields) and Ted Treby to whom the ramble this Sunday is dedicated. Please try to come to this Mass even if you cannot come on the ramble.
DAY OF RECOLLECTI0N - SUNDAY 18 MARCH
Father Ninian Arbuckle of the Friary, Forrest Gate will conduct the Day. It will he held at the Southwark Diocesan Catechetical Centre, 21 Tooting Dec Road, SW17 (opposite Tooting Bec underground station - Northern line).
The cost will be £2 per person. This will be collected on the day. Arrive from 10 30 - 11 00 am for coffee. The provisional programme is - 11 00 - Talk, 12 noon -, Mass, 1 00 pm - Lunch, 2 0pm Talk, 3 00 pm - Question time, 4 00 pm - Tea, 4 30 pm - Benediction.
Bring Sandwiches for lunch, coffee will be provided.
If you are coming, please complete and return the form at the end of the list before Friday 9 March) so that we can let Fr Arbuckle and the convent know what number to expect. This is a very special day in the Club year so if you
possibly can please try and come along.
EASTER WEEKEND - GOOD FRIDAY 20 APRIL - EASTER MONDAY 23 APRIL
This will be held at MATLOCK YOUTH HOSTEL. It is s situated in the same road as the Catholic Church, so getting to the 10 30 Mass on Sunday will be no problem. Those who wish to go and have not booked must book themselves by writing to the Warden, Youth Hostel, Bank Road Matlock, Derbyshire DP4 3NB. You should enclose the appropriate fee of £8.70 for the three bed nights and an SAE.
If you are not a member, you can pay the £5 membership fee at the
hostel. If you cannot get in at the hostel, details of bed and breakfast accommodation in the town are available from Maurice.
Since Anne Walsh has unfortunately got back trouble, she will not be able to drive the mini-bus. However we can travel there by train. Please Meet at St Pancras main line station (booking office) at 10 00 am on Good Friday for the 1030 am train to Matlock (change at Derby), Arrive Matlock at 12 55 just in time for Lunch.
We shall return by the 16 15 train on Easter Monday (arrives St Pancras 18 59).If you can, please arrange with someone to share a Persil voucher. This will enable you to obtain half price travel. This is a self-cooking weekend. So please bring something to cook, at least for Saturday's breakfast.
ST PATRICK'S DAY SATURDAY 17 MARCH
A Saturday afternoon walk will be arranged for this Saturday. Meet at VICTORIA at11 45 for 12 00 train to Redhill (arrive 11 3O). If more convenient; catch 11 277 from London Bridge (arrives Redhill 12 15. Lunch - Nutley Hall, Reigate. Tea: Fortes Redhill.
Distance - 2 miles to lunch and 5 miles after. Prospective members are invited to come on this walk. They can count this walk towards the three rambles need for membership.

There is a St Patrick's Dance at St Bede's School (opposite the Hickmans' home) at 8 00 pm in the evening, If you wish to go to this, please give Maurice a ring from 6 - 8 pm - he will pick you up from the station. There is a frequent train service from Redhill to London (Victoria). Journey time half-an-hour approx. Last train leaves Redhill at midnight.
SPRING BANK HOLIDAY WEEKEND SATURDAY - 26 - MONDAY 28 MAY
Maurice Hickman is hoping to arrange a bed and breakfast weekend
to BURY ST EDMUNDS (there is no youth hostel there).Travel will be by either coach or train (don't forget to save Persil tickets!).
If you are: interested in going, send an SAE to Maurice for further details.
OUTING TO THE SEA - SUNDAY 22 JULY
There will be a ramble near the Sussex coast with an option of staying by the sea for those who wish. Further details in the next list.
DUPLICATOR FUND
£l23.28 has been received. This is a third of the way to our target. Further donations will he gratefully received by Rena. Many thanks to those who have contributed to the Fund so far and also to Maureen Furlong who brought a bottle of wine to be raffled at the Christmas Party.
CHRISTMAS PARTY
Many thanks to Rena and Bill who organised the catering. Our thanks too to all those who brought t cakes and savouries and to those who helped prepare the food and those who washed and cleared up. Thanks, too, to Philip for calling the square dances. About 60 people attended this event.

GRAND UNION CANAL WALK - SATURDAY 28 APRIL
Meet Dorothy Hickman at GREENFORD STATION (Central Line) near
booking office between 12.45 and 1 00 pm. Lunch - Black Horse -
Oldfield Lane. Greenford (on the canal a quarter of a mile north of Greenford station). The pub does sandwiches and possibly meals. We shall walk eastwards towards Paddington and finish about 5 00 pm with tea/meal. Return from nearest underground station

CATHOLIC PEOPLE' S WEEKS
CPWs are held in various parts of the country. There are weeks for families and adults only. They are an opportunity for people to combine a study of their faith with a holiday. Talks, discussion and Mass are normally held in the mornings with a short early evening session and entertainment in the evenings. Afternoons are usually kept free for outings. Children are looked after by helpers and have their own programme of activities. There is an adults only week at Ammerdown Centre, near Bath from 11 - 18 August.

HOLIDAY AT GERALD TRIM'S
!f anyone would like to stay with Ossie's friend, Gerald Trim, who is organising rambling holidays, his address (originally included in the newsletter but as usual withheld on the internet).
The cost is about £100 for accommodation, evening meal, packed lunch, all transport and personally led rambles. Coach fare (less than four hours) is about £1O. Further details can he obtained from Mr Trim himself or Ossie or from Dorothy Hickman who sampled his holiday with two other Club members last October.
PILGRIMAGE FR0M YORK TO LINDISFARNE
Anthony Morwood-Leyland is organising a fortnight's pilgrimage from York to Lindisfarne during the last two weeks of August. The route is via Ampleforth, Richmond, Barnard Castle (rest day), Hexham and Holy Island. They will return to London by train from Durham on Monday 3 September. The total cost is about £100 which includes about £8O for the pilgrimage food and accommodation and about £20 fare.
