We had good news on 1 December 2020 in the form of an E  Mail message from our Ramble List Compiler which has now been followed up with joyful news of rambles on Sundays 6 and 13 December 2020 as follows:

More than ever, it is essential for those turning up for rambles to heed the advice of the leaders, and equally so, the guidance of the staff at the lunch stops. The onerous and illogical conditions which pubs that are open have to adhere to are much more difficult for them than for you.

Sunday 6th December         Leader. Pauline Lobo    (OS Landranger 166)
Meet:        Baker Street 0925 for 0943 Metropolitan line train to Croxley (arr                   1019). Toilets available at the station.
Lunch:     The Artichoke, Croxley Green. Lots of benches nearby on the                         green for people with packed lunch.
Tea:          No T
Distance: 8 fairly level miles returning to Croxley. May be muddy subject to                   recent rainfall.
Fare:        Oyster / Freedom pass / Travelcard options
Pauline will meet the ramblers at Croxley.

Sunday 13th December      Leader: Ant Connolly   (OS Landranger 177)

Meet:     Outside western entrance of Limehouse DLR/C2C station 1000 for                1015 prompt departure.

Coffee:  Yurt Cafe, Limehouse for a coffee/comfort stop

Lunch:   Please note the following details, changed since we first had                   details of this walk on the website: Two pubs in Island                             Gardens: The Ferry House (chicken or cheese salad box for                     £3.50 – for pic click HERE) OR The Watermans (serves                             Sunday Roasts and other hot food – click HERE for Main                         menu or HERE for special Sunday Menu attached).  Plenty of                   benches in Island Gardens for picnickers, however                                   recommend the first pub to be out of the cold

Tea:        No planned stop but a takeaway tea/coffee can be had from the                     cafes passed on way to station.  Plenty of other choices if walkers                 wish to spend longer in town

Miles:     8 miles returning from Greenwich station. Visit to Crossrail Place                   (rooftop garden) in Canary Wharf before lunch.  About 5 miles in                   the morning, and afterwards a wander to Point Hill in Greenwich,                   which involves a little hilly climb. Easy dropout at Cutty Sark DLR.

Fare:       Oyster / Freedom pass / Travelcard options
Ant will meet the ramblers at Limehouse.
