FORTlETH ANNIVERSARY OF THE CATHOLIC BUSHWALKERS, Sydney,
AUSTRALIA
Dorothy Clayton, one of our Club mernbers in 1934, wrote an article about the Club in a Sydney Catholic newspaper when she returned to Sydney with her family just before the war. As a result someone wrote to her suggesting they should start a similar Club in Sydney. So now the Club they started is 40 years on - and in a way an off-shoot of the.St Franois Club. When we had our 50th anniversary they sent ustheir congratulations and Dorothy Clayton came to our 'do'.

MEETING AT MAIN LINE STATION FOR SUNDAY RAMBLES
Keep an eye open for new or prospective members, especially when you know the Duty Member does not live in London and is unlikely to be able to travel up to London.

Always make sure the back of the ramble is in sight, If you can't see those behind you when the rambLe turns back on to another path, attract the attention of those in front of you so that the leader will be told to wait. Several of us got lost in July and we don't want it to happen again.

Gates - when the leader opens a gate pass the message 'gate' to those behind you so that the duty member knows the gate must be shut.

Informal meeting after rambles - When the ramble arrives back in London early, it is thought that those who do not have to hurry back home may like to go on to a nearby pub or cafe for a drink and/or meal.

Free Train Tickets - If you collect the tokens from Persil, Comfort, Domestos, Jif, Sunlight, Lemon liguid or Shield BR will give you a voucher for a free Awayday, Weekend or Ordinary return for an accompanying adult. Full details on leaflet available in most stations.

Running Off of the Club List - Offers of help will be  warmly accepted by the Committee. The running off takes place from 7 30 pm at Meg and Mary Walsh's home on one or two evenings just before the current list finishes.

Transport Strikes - In the event of prolonged strikes on rail or tube, send a stamped addressed envelpe to the secretary to get details of alternative arrangements.
