ANNUAL MASS FOR CLUB MEMBERS
The Annual Mass for Club members will be held at St. Mary Moorfields, Eldon Street, E.C.2 on Sunday September 29th at 9.30 a.m. Please make a special effort to come to the Mass which will be followed by the •••••••

ANNUAL COACH OUTING 1974 which will be to Selborne in Hampshire. Selborne is an unspoilt village where pioneer naturalist Gilbert White lived and wrote. His house and garden 'The Wakes' is open to the public and houses a museum of items connected with his work and also with Captain Oates of antarctic fame, who was also a native of the village. On the way back we shall visit St. Michael's Benedictine Abbey on the ocassion of their patronal feast. We are hoping to be shown round the abbey, which had associations with the Imperial Napoleon family, before going into town for tea. After tea we shall return to the Abbey for Vespers and Benediction at 6 p.m. before continuing back to London.
The fare will be £1.20 return and the coach will leave Eldon Street at 10.30 a.m. You may reserve your place by £orwarding the fare (or £1 deposit) to John Lawrence.

ALL NIGHT VIGIL TO LOURDES (Sat Oct 5th/Sun Oct 6th 1974)

Travel details for this annual pilgrimage are as follows:
Dep. Westminster Cathedral Sat Oct 5th at 7 a.m., returning there by            9.30 p.m. on Sunday Oct 6th. Cost £28 plus 70 French francs.                        PASSPORTS NECESSARY.
If interested please contact Miss N.K. (Paddy) Fitzpatrick, M.B.E. Many members who have undertaken this vigil in past years have spoken of the great spiritual benefit they enjoyed. Why not make an effort to take part this year?

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING OF MEMBERS

The Annual General Meeting of members will take place at St. Joseph's School, Bunhill Row, EC2 on Tuesday 8th October at 7.30 p.m, The meeting will be preceeded at 7 p.m. by HOLY MASS (offered for the future good government of the Club) in St. Joseph's Church, at which there will be an opportunity to venerate the relic of St. Francis of Assisi.
ALL MEMBERS ARE EXPECTED TO ATTEND THE ANNUAL GENERAL MEElING IF THEY POSSIBLY CAN
All motions and nominations for Secretary, Treasurer and other members of the Committee should be received by the Secretary by Tuesday September 24th. Foy your convenience a nomination form is attached to this iist.

For the information of newer members, the Committee consists of four ladies and four gentlemen, including the Secretary and Treasurer. Members may have special responsibilities as shown at the heading at the top of this list and they also act in turn as duty members on rambles (looking after prospective members, ensuring gates are shut, and seeing that everyone follows the same route as the leader) and assist with the running of the quarterly lists and the magazines. No member may serve more than two years in succession so no one need hesitate to let his (or her) name go
forward for fear of being stuck with the job for life. If you enjoy Club activities
please give a hand running them by serving on the Committee (if elected) or on the Social Sub-Committe4 (see below). If there are some Club activities you don't enjoy as much as you would wish then membership of one of these Committees may help you to change things to your liking.

The Social Sub-Committee is appointed by the Main Committee and is responsible for arranging most of the Club events except rambles and regular annual events. Although elections are not held for this committee the Secretary would be pleased to hear that you are willing to be appointed and will pass your name to the newly elected Secretary after the A.G.M. Please let him know particularly if you feel able to undertake the duties of Secretary or Treasurer of this Sub-Committee. Many hands make light work, but unfortunately in the past year very few hands have been available as
the Sub-Committee has been very much below strength and also some of the members have not been able to give more than token service. Things were much the same the year before. Wi th your cooperation we can look forward to better things in the year now about to begin. Please do what you can for the good of your club !

ST JOSEPH'S BAZAAR AT BUNHILL ROW

We are greatly indebted to Father Higgs for allowing us to use his schoolroom for our functions and one of the ways we can show our gratitude is by our support for his annual bazaar held around the end of 0ctober. The exact date is not known at the time of typing. If it is released before we run off you will find a stop press note further down the list.
Last year Norah Smeaton and her team of helpers raised a record amount and we are hoping for a new record this year. If you would like to make a gift or donation for her tombola or children's stall please give it to her (or a Committee member) any Tuesday evening we meet at Bunhill Row or send them to her at her home adress.
Remember that no gift or donation is too small •

ANNUAL MASS FOR DECEASED MEMBERS OF THE CLUB
The Annual Mass for deceased members of the Club will be offered at St. Mary Moorfields on Sunday November 3rd at 9.30 am. For the convenience of those members who wish to go out on John Griffey's ramble afterwards the meeting point will be Moorgate Station so all those who want to will be able to attend the Mass and enjoy the ramble.

DUTY MEMBERS ON RAMBLES

The retiring Committee are following the precedent set hy the 1972/1973 Committee in accepting ramble duties for all the rambles publicised on this list. This avoids uncertainty on the list and it is hoped this practice will be continued in future.

EASTER 1975 PILGRIMAGE HOLIDAY TO ROME AND ASSISI

Next year is HOLY YEAR and John Lawrence is arranging a Pilgrimage hOliday to ROME and ASSISI. We shall depart from Central London (after Holy Mass if this can be arranged) at 11 a.m. on Wednesday March 26th and return on Friday April 5th. Five nights will be spent in Rome and four in Assisi, with full board accommodation and a full programme of excursions. Travel to and from Rome is by British Airways scheduled flights in daylight and between Rome and Assisi by train with reserved seats. More details are given in previous list. The quoted cost from Central London is £113.80 and John will be pleased to send you full details on receipt an S.A.E. Nine have booked so far and a further seven places are being held until the end of October (or, of course, until they are filled) John will be bringing a detailed itinerary to the A.G.M. to show anyone there who is interested.
