Members will have been sorry to read in the list about the.recent death of Margaret Hadfield. It is hoped there will.be many of her friends at the Holy Mass to be offered for the repose of her soul at St.Joseph's Church, Bunhill Row, in January. Fred McAndrew has contributed the following appreciation:

Margaret first joined our club in the early post-war years and many of the
.long-standing members will remember her with affection. Zest for living, love of the open air, interest in other people and buoyant spirits made her good company on many a Sunday afternoon.

She had great attachment to the club and remained loyal for over twenty five years. During this time she led many varied (and strenuous) rambles and in recent years was able to spend time helping with.the rambling section of the
Newman Association. Indeed, one remembers with some clarity' her forthright views on the activities of members of that association who, years ago, nearly hrought it to disaster (financial and otherwise). Margaret had little time for their strange ideas. How right she was!

So now it's farewell, Maggie.

May you rest in peace

FRED McANDREW
