MINUTES OF 62nd ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING OF ST FRANCIS OF ASSISI CATHOLIC RAMBLERS CLUB.


The meeting was held at the Holy Apostles Church Hall on Saturday 10 October 1992.


31 members were present.


1. Paul Brunning welcomed all present and the St Francis prayer was                recited.
2. There were no apologies for absence.


3. Olivia Delargy read out the minutes of the previous AGM and they were        accepted as read.


4. There were no rmatters arising from the minutes.


5. Secretary's report: Olivia reported a successful year with rising                      membership. There were now 210 paid up members. There had not been      many events other than rambles. The monthly dinners had dwindled but        were now revived on the first Saturday of every month .

6. Matters arising from the Secretary's report: Tony Finnegan reported that        as membership secretary be had received 140 new enquiries, 50 had            turned up on walks and 31 eventually joined the club. All publicity had            been by means of members putting up notices on their parish notice              boards.


   A suggestion was made that the slip requesting new ramble leaders should

   be printed on a separate page as members might not want to mutilate their

   programme,
7. Auditor's report: Copies of the accounts of 1991 - 92 were distributed.            John Lawrence reported that he had conducted the audit and found the          books in good order. Income had exceeded expenditure by £229.68.
8. Matters arising from the auditor' s report: It was agreed that there was

    no need to increase membership subscriptions as there had been an

    excess of income over erpenditure. John Delargy said that the

    membership fee bore no relationship to the cost of running the club as          ramble leaders spent a lot of money planning rambles. OIivia Delargy said

    that committee members did not always claim expenses although they

    were encouraged to do so by the Treasurer.


9. Election of comminee members for 1992 - 93. Olivia Delargy proposed

    Tony Finnegan as Secreary. Anne Alcock seconded and he was elected         ununimously. 

     Peter Lobe was re-elected unanimously as Treasurer.
     Tony Finnegan proposed Mary Hennessy tofill the vacant committee post.

      Philip Evans seconded and Mary was elected unanimously.

      Other members re-elected for a further term were: Philip Evans,

      Pau Brunning, Ann Richardsan. Helen O'Brien and Maureen Mulryan.
11. Any other business: Betty Morrison proposed that new members be

      to!d the rules of the countryside and this was agreed.


      Eugene Donnelly proposed that ramble leaders be reimbursed the

      cost of walking out rambles. After a lively discussion John Ddargy                  proposed that the new committee report back at the next AGM on ways        of ensuring that the ramble list compiler had a sufficient supply of                    rambles to draw on. Tony Finnegan seconded and 24 monbers voted in        favour.
