On Saturday 13 May 2017 Maurice Hicknam led a walk from Bishopstone. The walk was advertised in the Spring programme as follows:
SATURDAY 13TH MAY Leader : Maurice Hickman Explorer Map 123
Meet : Victoria 0900 for 0917 train to Bishopstone (arr. 1043)
Lunch : Plough and Harrow, Litlington
Tea : The Old Boot, Seaford
Distance : 12 miles, returning from Seaford
Fare : £18.15 Seaford with Network Card
Hilly down and cliff top terrain but the views make the effort worthwhile.
Advance tickets may still be available at £10 (£5 each way) but you must aim
to return on the 1825 or later train.
My research into the club's history suggest that this was the 338 time Maurice led a programme walk. Happily Sheila was out with her camera and has provided the following photographs, as well as two provided by Maurice himself.
It is clear from the map that the walk was in an area much traversed by the ramblers but it followed a different route from earlier walks and this time began at Bishopstone.
After a good lunch at the appointed pub stop the ramblers gathered for the afternoon walk and looked back at the pub from the high ground
