On Sunday 5 November 2017 John Burbage led a walk advertised in the Autumn programme as follows:

 

Sunday 5th November    Leader: John Burbage   (OS Landranger 187)

Meet: East Croydon Station tram stop 1000 for the 1015 tram to Addington Village Tram 

           Stop (arr 1028).  Trains from Victoria (latest 0947) and London Bridge (latest

            0937)   serve East Croydon .

Lunch:  The White Bear, Fickleshole. An atmospheric 16th century pub in a remote

                location.  Sunday menu (sample on internet) with medium/high prices.

Tea:   An infusion of dried leaves and boiling water somewhere at the end of the walk.

Distance:  10 miles mainly on the level with some small hills returning from Addington

                   Village.

Fare:  Oyster/Freedom pass/Travelcard options.

John will meet walkers at East Croydon.

 

In the event the dreaded engineering works meant there were no trains from London Bridge on the day but that did not deter two dozen ramblers - a record by recent standards - from joining the walk.
