Henrietta's walk from Croxley station on Sunday 21 February 2016, like most walks so far this year, was hampered by late changes in travel arrangements caused by the dreaded engineering works. Accordingly the announcement of details on the home page of the website, drawing on the valiant research carried out every week by David Crundall, gave information on how to get to Croxley and the item on the home page read as folllows:
Sunday 21st February. Leader: Henriette Van Zaelen (OS map 176)
Meet : Baker Street 0940 for 0957 Metropolitan line train to Croxley (arr 1034)
Stop Press Forced Change of Plan: No Metropolitan service Wembley Park - Aldgate on this date. Please use Jubilee Line from Baker Street to Wembley Park and change there for the Metropolitan line to Croxley. The Tfl Website suggests that a Jubilee Line train from Baker Street at 9 47 would, following the change to the Metropolotin at Wembley Park, get people to Croxley by 10 34, the start time suggested on the programme. But if you miss the 9 47 there are frequent trains after it so take thhe next one along.
Lunch : Croxley Green - choice of venues.
Tea : Let's see.
Distance : 7 miles returning from Croxley
Fare : Travelcard/Oyster/Freedom pass options
Fortunately for us browsers Antoinettte Adkins made it to Croxley and provided us with the following photographs taken on the day:
