Kath (then Kathleen Marney) joined the club in 1962 - 63. She was
secretary for the year 1963 - 64 and again for the year 1967 - 68. There was great competition for places on the committee in those days so the limit of two consecutive years on the committee was fairly strictly applied.

Through the club Kath met Arthur Holland, and they were married on 13 June 1970. A full-page photograph of them on their wedding day was published in the August edition of the club magazine, which at that time was published alongside the quarterly ramble list. As well as the photograph, an account of the wedding day was also provided by Dora Young who joined the club in 1963 - 64. Her account of the wedding can be read HERE

Arthur died in 2018. He and Kath remained members until the late 80s and then re-joined in the 90s, becoming life members in 1993. They supported many club social events and attended several of the holidays organised by people who had been in the club in the 1960s. They were much loved and sorely missed by all who knew them.

Requiem Mass and funeral service for Kath took place at Norwich Cathedral on Thursday, 24th September 2020, at 12 noon.  Unfortunately it was only live streamed on U Tube at the time and has not been available since the day itself.
