On 3 May 2010 Robert Slater led a great walk from Tring, on which we saw the sights from the Ivinghoe Beacon and lots and lots of Bluebells. Sheila's memories and one or two of Robert's own sre shown below:
The walk included some open country of which the next few photos are a sample
Our photographer caught me negotiating a stile
There was also refreshing shade to be enjoyed
And Robert kept us informed about interesting features of the area we were walking through
I don't think I have ever seen such profusion of bluebells on a single walk
Of course a "high point" of the day was the ascent of and then the views from the Ivinghoe Beacon!!! Two group photos were taken on the summit, one by Sheila with the leader in it
And one with the leader's camera with both Sheila and himself in it!! I don't know what is going on here!! Then towards the end of the walk there was a very pleasant surprise with cake at the monument cafe to celebrate Carol's birthday today. |
