The following photographs were taken on walks in 1969 - 70 and made available to the club website in 2018 by Dorothy Hickman. Somehow I seem to have prepared them for publication but then forgot to put them up until Dorothy reminded me of them at Peter Culba's funeral on 22 January 2020

The photos above and below were taken on a 1969 ramble through cement works in  the Ivinghoe area. The late John Lawrence is in the foreground in white hat & plus fours and Patsy Dooley in white jacket. Peter Sturredge is to right of Patsy and Tony Ryan is to right of John in first picture.

I did not join the club until a few years after this photograph was taken but I remember an early walk I did ending up with tea in the Hickman's garden and I think the above photograph was an early instance of a similar occasion in 1969

In those days the ramblers never missed an opportunity for a bit of dancing. This was often of the square dance variety. This picture is of people dancing on one of the annual summer Croxley Green Square dance rambles in 1969. The ramble finished with tea (prepared by the Club & Social Committees) followed by a Square Dance.

Above is a picture of Tony Chainey & young daughter on a ramble.

The last picture is a 1970 Ashdown Forest ramble. Mary Hickman I think is in foreground 4th from right
