Tony and Maria (Maplesden) met in the St Francis of Assisi Catholic Ramblers' Club which they both joined in 1946 - 47. They were active and well loved members for many tears and became life members in 2005. Tony's name appeared on many a programme as square dance caller and MC at Tuesday evening social events.
 
Tony sadly passed away in 2016 and Maria in March 2022. On Monday 28 March Maria's funeral Mass was celebrated in the Church of St Teresa, Newbury Park, Ilford, Essex IG2 7JA where Tony had played the organ for many years until shortly before his death. Like all St Theresa's services the Rrquiem Mass was live streamed through their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/stteresasnewburypark and remains available there.
