Fr John Clayton's name first appeared on the membership list in 1958 - 59. An article in the club history published in 1999 staates that he was a friend of the Club ever since as a curate at Bunhill Row he was a member of the Club.

He sometimes chaired the AGM.

After he became a Parish Priest the club often held a Summer or Christmas square dance at his Croxley Green Parish.
