In membership year 2004 - 05 Dave Richardson joined the club and quickly became a popular  frequent walker, joining us on many occasions at East Croydon station to join the Sunday ramble. We were devastated to hear of his untimely death on Sunday 19th March 2006, so soon after joining. In his short time in the club Dave did a lot to publicise our activities. He always had copies of our notice board announcement with him as he drove around the home counties in the course of his work and approached many parish priests to put one up in their church.

Dave was also a member of London Young Catholics Organisation and he encouraged its members to join in rambles and social events organised by our club.

A number of club members attended the funeral Mass in St Aidan's Catholic Church Coulsdon and we sent a special enrolment in the Franciscan Mass Association as a token of our sympathy to his sorrowing family. May he rest in peace.
