On Sunday 23 December 2018 Maurice Hickman led a walk from Merstham. Transport arangements had to be changed between the time the printed programme was circulated and the day of the walk so visitors to the website saw the following amended version of the walk details:

Meet:   Due to the engineering works at Victoria the outbound journey  

            will be the 1019 from London Bridge, arriving Merstham 1048 and

               NOT Victoria at 1040 for 1105 train to Merstham (arrives 1137) as in the printed

               programme 

            The train from London Bridge also calls Norwood Junction 1032
             and East Croydon 1035. 

Lunch: Harrow, Whitehill

Tea     : Sun (Wetherspoon), Redhill

Distance:  9 miles, returning from Redhill

Fare:   £7.85 with Network Card

As the walk involves a steep ascent to the North Downs Way before lunch and a steep descent  afterwards, it would be advisable to bring walking poles if you have them, particularly as the weather has been so wet recently.
 
Following the walk I received just two photographs - one of the small but happy group of walkers and the other of an unrecognised derelict tower somewhere in the Merstham/Redhill area. They are shown below.
